Admission Criteria

• A clear diagnosis of irreversible dementia.
• Individuals in the early to mid-stage of dementia will be accepted.
• Completed a CCAC assessment within 6 months of staying at the Guest House.
• Living in the community with an informal caregiver.
• Living in the Champlain Region.
• A valid Ontario Health Card number.
• Individuals must be medically stable.
• Individuals with physical disabilities may be eligible. Individuals in wheelchairs are accepted if they are able to weight bear.
• Individuals at risk of harming themselves or others would not be eligible for the Guest House.
• Individuals who require full assistance with activities of daily living because of dementia would not be eligible. Respite is available in long term care homes for clients requiring this level of assistance.
